SCALY SKIN HYPERKERATOSIS

Hyperkeratosis is a thickening of the outermost layer of the epidermis, the stratum corneum.

Primarily, it is a physiological adaptation phenomenon, which aims to increase the resistance of the epidermis through an accelerated production of keratin-rich cells. For example, walking barefoot generates a thickening of the soles of the feet, which become rough, hard, and subject to cracking.

However, it can also be a result of other conditions that, in the absence of external causes, generate inflammation. Cells accumulate on the skin surface, inflammation sets in, and the skin barrier is no longer able to fulfill its protective role.

To combat hyperkeratosis, it is necessary to use moisturizing and emollient products, enriched with ingredients capable of denaturing keratin and eliminating scales, restoring the skin to a condition of comfort and hydration.

EPTADERM has developed the EPTA PSO line, which thanks to the rich texture of its products and the variable concentrations of its ingredients depending on the type of thickening, is able to effectively combat localized scales and hyperkeratosis, bringing the skin back to a condition of well-being.

SEBUM SCALY SKIN

Sebum-scaly skin is a common problem that affects the skin and scalp, and manifests with the appearance of poorly defined erythematous patches, covered with small scales that are more or less oily, non-adhesive. It causes intense itching of the scalp and can be accompanied by burning sensations. The lesions develop in greasy areas of the skin, where sebum secretion is more abundant, such as the scalp, the furrow between the nose and cheeks, but also the eyebrows, the space between them, and the trunk.

It’s not a serious condition and doesn’t cause any complications, but it can be problematic from an aesthetic point of view. In some cases, it can strongly affect the patient’s quality of life, due to its visible and recurring nature.

The triggering factors can be multiple: stress, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, climatic factors, but in any case, it is important to take care of the problem and give the patient effective tools to improve their condition.

EPTADERM has developed the EPTA DS line, which, thanks to its complete formula, is able to control excessive sebum production, calm itching and redness, and promote the elimination of scales. The skin and scalp will regain a condition of comfort and well-being.

SKIN HYPOPIGMENTATION

Skin Hypopigmentation is manifested by white spots on the body or face. It is a disease associated with the disappearance of melanocytes, the skin cells responsible for the production of melanin. The hypopigmented spots do not cause any physical sensations: they are neither itchy nor painful.

The condition is not contagious, but people affected are constantly looking for effective solutions to regain a uniform complexion and improve their quality of life, both from an aesthetic and psychological point of view.

EPTADERM has developed EPTA VTLG, which, thanks to its formulation, protects the skin from oxidative stress and stimulates melanin synthesis, providing the skin with all the elements needed. Furthermore, its airless system optimally preserves its precious formula and texture.

OILY SKIN WITH ACNE PRONE TENDENCY

OILY SKIN WITH ACNE
PRONE TENDENCY

Oily and acne-prone skin appears shiny and greasy, often with more or less visible imperfections.

It feels thick to the touch, with enlarged pores, blackheads, whiteheads, or pimples. On the face, it mainly localizes on the nose, cheeks, forehead, and chin.

Individuals who commonly present this type of skin are young people in puberty, associated or not with acne, as the primary cause of acne-prone skin is hormonal, but it can also be found in adults.

In fact, among the other possible causes, a combination of exogenous factors should also be considered, such as UV rays, certain diets, stress, and some pharmacological therapies that can trigger oily and/or acne-prone skin problems even in the adult population.

EPTADERM has developed the EPTA AC line, a complete approach for oily and acne-prone skin, ranging from specific cleansing to anti-blemish cosmetic treatment, to restore the skin’s proper well-being.

FRAGILE HAIR TENDENCING
TO FALL

Stress, fatigue, hormonal changes or disorders, genetic predisposition, use of medicines, can cause hair weakening and hair loss, an extremely common problem that causes serious discomfort in those affected.

Occasional hair loss is the most common form. It is characterized by a strong increase in hair loss, normally 3 months after a triggering event, which can be associated with high stress, trauma, restrictive diet, pregnancy, or simply seasonal changes. In these circumstances, up to 300 hairs can be lost per day, whereas under normal conditions, a scalp loses about 25-60 hairs per day. Hair fall can be disruptive, but these forms are reversible, although it may take up to 12 months to return to a normal condition.

Chronic hair fall is progressive, slow but continuous. In these cases, we talk about telogen effluvium and androgenetic alopecia. It is of hormonal origin, involving androgen hormones that cause a gradual miniaturization of the hair follicle, a progressive loss of hair density that becomes increasingly short, thin, and fragile.

EPTADERM has created the EPTA HAIR line to help patients deal with this impactful problem in their daily life, promoting physiological hair regrowth, contributing to slowing down hair loss and respecting the balance of the scalp, often compromised by the use of inadequate products.

SKIN HYPERPIGMENTATION

Irregular skin pigmentation or hyperpigmentation is an extremely common problem caused by an uneven increase in melanin production.

Skin spots are the visible consequence and can be caused by a variety of factors, first of all sun exposure, but also genetic factors, age, hormonal changes, or even skin or post-inflammatory lesions.

EPTADERM has developed the EPTA SPOT line, a complete approach to help fight and reduce the appearance of dark spots by evening out the complexion, without ever forgetting to protect the skin with adequate sun protection.

SKIN AGING

Skin aging is a physiological and natural process that affects every person, caused by a combination of factors that can cause damages of various intensities. Genetic factors as well as sun exposure, pollution, lifestyle, and diet contribute to generating free radicals in the skin affecting its structure, causing wrinkles, loss of elasticity and volume, and loss of luminosity.

While some of these factors can’t be avoided, we can act in others by adopting a healthy lifestyle and choosing the right preventivetreatment.

EPTADERM has formulated the EPTA AGE line, a targeted approach to help fight and reduce the signs of skin aging, giving elasticity and firmness to the skin, which will regain a healthy and bright appearance.

EPTADERM also pays close attention to fighting free radicals. That’s why it has formulated EPTA C35, an intensive, specific, and targeted antioxidant treatment. The skin will recover extraordinary brightness and firmness.

DRY SKIN

The skin is the main barrier that protects us from external aggressions. Its superficial layer, the epidermis, which acts as an interface between the very humid internal environment and the much drier external air, contains 20 to 30% of water, and its most superficial layer, the stratum corneum, contains 10 to 20%. The stratum corneum is responsible for preventing water from evaporating from the body. When the skin is dry, it is more likely that its barrier function is altered, making it more vulnerable to the external environment and prone to irritation and fragility.

There are different types of dry skin, and different factors are often involved: genetics, age, weather conditions, use of inadequate products and some medicines.

The commongoal of all forms of dryness is to eliminate the use of inadequate products and to nourish and hydrate the skin, choosing replenishing cleansers and emollient and moisturizing treatments capable of restoring the integrity of the skin barrier.

EPTADERM hasdeveloped the EPTA CREME line, a complete approach for dry and dehydrated skin, which will regain comfort and elasticity thanks to the correct degree of hydration.

EPTADERM also pays attention to damaged skin, which needs to be regenerated. This is why ithas created EPTA REGEN, a smart skin regenerator, based on vitamins and natural extracts, able to restore the correct balance it needs to the skin.

HYPERSWEATING

HYPERSWEATING

Sweating is a physiological condition necessary for the proper functionality of our body. However, there are many people who suffer from excessive sweating, which is also called hyperhidrosis.

Hyperhidrosis can be caused by various factors, which should be properly investigated by a dermatologist who can act with specific treatments.

Among the various forms of hyperhidrosis, we can find palmar hyperhidrosis, which is an excessive sweating of the hands, plantar hyperhidrosis, when hyperhidrosis affects the soles of the feet, axillary hyperhidrosis, when the affected area is the armpits, but there are also other more complex forms of hyperhidrosis, such as night sweats, which should be appropriately investigated.

These are all conditions that always and in any case cause discomfort and embarrassment in people who are affected. There are cosmetic treatments able to control excessive sweating and restore a balanced condition.

EPTADERM has developed EPTA DEO, a targeted approach to help control and combat excessive perspiration.

ACTIVE PHOTOPROTECTION

The sun is a constant presence and a source of well-being in our lives. It regulates our mood, allows us to synthesize vitamin D, and is essential for life on earth. It reaches us through its rays, especially UV rays, which are the ones that come into contact with our skin.

But it is important to know how UV rays behave, in order to absorb only their beneficial effects and avoid the damage they can cause.

Ultraviolet rays are divided into UVA and UVB. The first one are not very intense but are present all year round and over the time they can cause permanent skin damages: loss of collagen and elastin, premature formation of wrinkles, dull complexion. UVB rays are much more intense, especially during the warmer season, and are responsible for sunburn and premature photoaging. They can cause genetic mutations in DNA and be responsible for the onset of skin cancer.

It is important to know the rules of sun exposure and the best practices to adopt to enjoy the sun in complete safety.

SPF is an English acronym thatstands for “Sun Protection Factor“. It expresses the ability of a product to protect against UVB rays that could cause sunburn. The higher the SPF, the greater the degree of sun protection offered. To adequately protect the skin, it is important to use creams with sun filters that protect against both UVA and UVB rays.

EPTADERM has developed the EPTA SUN line, specifically designed to offer very high protection against UVA and UVB rays. Because we only have one skin and we have to take care of it.
